Note | Visitation for Lois M. (nee McComb) & Warren B. Walker, of Lake In The Hills, will be on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM, with a time of the Funeral Service at 5:00 PM, at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. An Interment will be private at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. Lois was born on September 30, 1931 and she passed away at home on May 5, 2015. Warren was born on November 27, 1929 and he passed away at home on Wednesday, February 21, 2018. Lois and Warren will be remembered for their devotion to each other, to their family, and to their friends. They moved the family from Detroit so that Warren could start his long career as a sales representative for Pendleton Woolen Mills. Lois dropped everything when the children came and eventually returned to the work force as his assistant. They loved to travel and took many cross-country driving trips, often visiting places off the beaten path along the way. Wherever they lived in Detroit, then in Chicago’s northwest suburbs, they rapidly added to their network of lifelong friends, through “gourmet groups” and other activities. Both were avid readers, loved to play cards, and to laugh. Lois and Warren were married on July 25, 1953. They are survived by their two children, David (Joanne) Walker and Leslie-Anne (Mark) Walker-Indyke; and their two grandsons, Bradley Walker and Mark (Becky) Walker. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Warren and Lois’ favorite charities, Disabled American Veterans, www.dav.org or Guide Dog Foundation, www.guidedog.org (https://ahlgrimffs.com) |
