With sadness, we want to let you know that our dad, Bill Fitzpatrick, passed away today (January 14th). We would like to invite you to his visitation and funeral service to be held Wednesday, January 17th, at Bossardet Chapel of Lynch Funeral Home, located at 39 W. Burdick Street, Oxford, MI. Viewing will be 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 (noon) with the funeral service immediately following. Graveside service will take place immediately following at Acacia Park in Southfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Michigan. Donation information is on the attached file.

William Fitzpatrick Died: Sunday, January 14, 2007 Age: 84 William Fitzpatrick, of Oxford, formerly of Lake Orion, passed away on January 14, 2007. He was 84.

Loving father of Lisa Fitzpatrick Sokol (Leonard Sokol) of Lake Orion, James Craig Fitzpatrick (Linda Duguid) of Lake Orion and Susan Leigh Duggan (Brad Duggan) of Ortonville. Loving grandfather of Bryan, Austin and Ian Duggan, Jason (Marilyn Grier) and Christopher Fitzpatrick. Also survived by one brother, Paul Fitzpatrick. Dedicated to his great-granddaughter Jaqueline Rose Fitzpatrick. Preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Josephine Chesterfield Fitzpatrick.

Mr. Fitzpatrick was born August 26, 1922 in Detroit to Albert Fitzpatrick and Clara Olsen. He attended Detroit Public Schools and graduated from Redford High School and later attended the University of Michigan. He served in the Coast Guard in WWII before working for the Modine Manufacturing Company, Kelsey Hayes, DeVlieg and the airlines.

Mr. Fitzpatrick was a loving father who shared his passions for antiques and the arts with his children. He loved history, travel and big band music. He celebrated his life through gatherings with family and friends at holidays and special occasions. He was an avid golfer who also enjoyed playing bridge, reading and working on clocks. Summer was his favorite time of the year when he could play golf five to six times a week. He loved to take trips and go on adventures in his motor home. Mr. Fitzpatrick loved to spend time with his grandsons and his family. He watched his grandsons grow to become wonderful, talented young men. He was very proud of the accomplishments of his children. He adored his loving wife, Josie.

A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, January 17, at Noon at Bossardet Chapel Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors in Oxford. Friends and family may visit from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Michigan, 400 Mack Ave., Detroit, MI 48201.
