Note | Tombstone Inscriptions Union Deerfield Townships, Ross County at CLH, (replaced unknown child in my records with) gives "Shasteen, Clara J. d/o (daughter of) H (Harrison) & NE (Nancy E. Minear) d. 18 Sep 1864, age 1 year". Note also that in the same plot is "Shasteen, Clara C. d/o J & C d Sep 18, 1864 11m 16 d" - The date of death is the same, different parents, different age, indicating a transcription error or an accident in which two small children of almost the same name died, with different parents. Parents J & C are assumed to be James C & Catharine Creviston Shasteen There is no documentation to tell the story of the deaths of these two young babies ot two brothers with almost the same name, but the tombstones are placed touching side by side in the cemetery. |
