I am attaching a copy of the cemetery block sheet which shows were Edward Shasteen is buried. They kept poor records way back then. Edward is in Block 61 Lot 1 place F. In Block 61 Lot 1 space C is shown a Caroline Davison who was Carolina S Shasteen before marriage. She was born 1852 and died 1940. From your dates on Edward I would think her to be a daughter of this Edward. Also in the cemetery records it shows that Carolina's husband O J Davison purchased this entire Lot 1 on Dec 23 1897 with final payment on Mar 12 1898. I wonder if Edward was buried here and when Carolina's child died on dec 11 1897 they went and purchased the whole lot but will probably never know for sure. This is the only Shasteen burial in Tecumseh while most are buried in the Cook Cemetery just 8 miles north of Tecumseh. There is also an Edward buried there but he died in 1923 Burial information: |
