She and her first husband, George Coleman, operated a hotel-restaurant there until she left him and her three children in Michigan and came west to Montana with George Cutler. They ran a Trading Post in Glendive, Montana in the 1880's when conditions were still very rough. They also had a hotel in Miles City, Montana before they moved to Dallas, Oregon. They founded Cutler City and had a beautiful home in Dallas and also owned much of the property at Devil's Lake, Oregon. Their home was purchased by a fellow named Charles Waller and he relocated it to PeeDee, Oregon. The home has been placed on the hist oric register and is open to the public one day a year.
