| Note | Paul Fitzpatrick, age 93, beloved husband of 62 years to June, who preceded him in death, passed away on September 17, 2017. Paul was born on June 26, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Albert and Clara Fitzpatrick. He grew up in Detroit and was a Captain in the ROTC at Redford High School and graduated in 1942. Afterword, he attended Lawrence Institute of Technology prior to serving as a 1st Lieutenant in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. He flew several missions in the Marauder B-26 over the European theater. Following his time in the service, he continued his studies in engineering at the University of Michigan. He was a successful, well-respected engineer with a career spanning four decades where he was employed by Micromatic, Excello, and later Textron until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and he was proud to hold 12 different US patents. He enjoyed sailing, woodworking and golf. Paul was devoted to his family and was a loving husband and an incredible father and grandfather. At 89, he began writing his life story, which was a wonderful and enlightening gift to his family. He lives on in our memory as a role model and mentor and leaves behind a legacy his family will look back on years from now with great pride and admiration. He will be forever loved, dearly missed and our lives are better because of him. Paul is survived by his children, Cynde Adams (John), Nancy Hess (Charles) and Judy Fitzpatrick, and six grandchildren, Nathan, Lindsey, Brooke, Alex, Andrew, and Elise. Brother of the late William Fitzpatrick. Family will receive friends Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 10 AM until the Funeral service at 12 PM. A.J.
